Ingredients

1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 stalks green onion, thinly diced

2 tsp. soy sauce

½ tsp. ground pepper

2 tsp. sesame oil

1 tbsp. cooking wine

1 tbsp. corn starch

1 large egg, beaten

Pinch of salt

Black sesame seeds

1 packet of bacon

Loaf of Captain John Derst bread


Directions

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with foil. Place a metal cooling rack inside the baking sheet and lay bacon strips in a single layer. Bake until about halfway baked – about 7-10 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside.

2.     Wash shrimp under water, pat dry and set aside.

3.     Cut bread using a 2-inch circle cookie cutter.

4.     Place shrimp, green onion, soy sauce, salt and pepper, sesame oil, cooking wine in a food processor and process until blended.

5.     Stir in egg and cornstarch.

6.     Top bread rounds with shrimp mixture and smooth with a knife. Cook at 400 degrees for 8 minutes.

7.     Remove from oven, top with bacon and black sesame seeds and return to oven for an additional 10-15 minutes or until bacon is crisp.
